VOCABULARY
1. Show a counting flashcard with a single item. Ask "what's this?" "A bird"
2. Flip the card to show the same item in a group. Ask students "How many (birds) are there?" Students count and answer "Three!"
3. Repeat for all the cards. To increase the challenge, you can flip the card for a shorter time, so students have to look and then guess the number they saw.
SONG
1. Show the first song flashcard. Teach the vocbulary (apples, tree, windy). Ask students: "How many apples are on the tree? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5"
"What colour are the apples?" "Green."
2. Show flashcard 2. Teach: "One green apple falling down.".
3. Show flashcard. Teach: "A tasty apple".
4. Sing the song while holding up the flashcards.
Song Follow Up
Ask questions about the last picture:
"Is the girl happy?" "She is sad." "Why?"
"There are no apples". "She is hungry."

ACTIVITY
1. Ask students to line up against a wall.
2. Ask one student "how many steps?" Student chooses a number between one and ten.
3. Ask another student "(walk) or (hop)?" Give the student two choices from all the actions in the lesson (run, jump, walk, hop, swim, fly). You can show the cards if needed.
4. Ask another student "(fast) or (slow)?"
5. Repeat the students choices, e.g. "10 fast hops!" and then say "go"
6. Count with the students "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.." and then clap your hands and say "touch the wall" to get all the students back to the wall.
