Teaching 1-3 year olds can be great fun, and they are ready to learn lots of words, with the right activities. At this age, we focus on words and very short phrases, as well as involving parents or helpers in the classroom.
To really capture young children’s attention, we recommend using songs, puppets, story books, movement activities, colouring sheets and even musical instruments. Here are our tips for using these things in the classroom.
1. SONGS
You can buy our RED LEVEL songs for ESL Kids. There are 10 topic songs, plus 2 hello and 2 goodbye songs. These songs are written or arranged especially for ESL 1-3 year olds. They come with flashcards to help teach the songs, and reinforce the vocabulary.
