LESSON PLAN

SONG: Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

1. Show the flashcards, and elicit the vocabulary.
2. Teach “eyes, ears, mouth, nose” by saying and touching the parts of your face.
3. Sing "eyes and ears and mouth and nose" to the song melody slowly while touching the parts of your face.
4. Stand up and sing the whole song.

Once students are familiar with the vocabulary, you can ask them "where are your (eyes)?" and have them touch the correct body part.

LESSON WORKSHEETS

ACTIVITY: Felt Face

You can make a felt face very easily. You just need a large piece of felt for the face, and lots of other colours to cut out the face parts. You can place the face on the floor, or stick to the wall with masking tape.

1. Put the face parts in a bag.
2. Seat children around the felt face and ask "what's this" and elicit "face".
3. Take a face part out of the bag and elicit the vocabulary. Give it to one student to place on the face.
You might need help from care givers to get young children to take turns properly.
