Vocabulary: Robot, aeroplane, car, triangle, square, circle, fast/slow, small/tall
Phrases: I am (a robot). I am (fast).
Where is the (triangle)?
Can you make a (circle)?

LESSON PLAN
Activity: Shapes
The robot is made of a lot of familiar shapes which we can use to teach. Prepare one or two sets of cut out shapes—a triangle, square, circle and heart. If you have a second set, stick the shapes on the wall around the room.
1. Show students a cut out shape and teach the word.
2. If you have stuck shapes around the room, ask students to find the same shape on the wall. “Where is the (triangle)?” “There!”
3. Ask students “Can you make a triangle with your hands?” Put your hands together in a triangle shape.
4. Repeat for the other shapes.
SONG: I Am A Robot
1. Show the Robot Flashcards 1. Ask "what's this?" "A robot!"
Point to the robot's chest and ask "what's this?" "A car/an aeroplane".
2. Show Robot Flashcards 2 (small robot).
"Look. It's small. A small robot".
3. Repeat for the tall robot.
4. Show either the car or aeroplane flashcard. "Look it's a car/an aeroplane."
5. Sing either the car or aeroplane version of the song.
LESSON WORKSHEETS

ACTIVITY: Puppet Actions
A robot puppet would be the ideal match for this lesson, but any puppet can work!
1. Before you bring out the puppet, teach a selection of the Action 1 and 2 cards (jump, dance, sing, swim, run, walk, fly). These are target words for Stage 1, so you may need to help the students ask the puppet.
2. Introduce the puppet.
3. Hold up an action card, and help students say the action, e.g. "walk".
4. The puppet does the action, or shakes its head and says "no! I can't".
After this activity, if you have time, you can repeat the Lesson 1 feeding the puppet activity.
